Tuna Spoons

Went to lunch yesterday at the most amazing sushi restaurant I have ever been to. Sony Gao is the chef and owner and does some amazing stuff with sushi. I you come visit sometime and you like sushi, we definitely need to go there. That will be my first Date Night with Stacy when she joins me.

Two Weeks (one day down)

Ok, I know. It sounds like a countdown but it really isn’t. Well, in a way it is and in a way it isn’t.

If you haven’t hear by now Stacy and I are about to start a new adventure. Not not children or anything like that. We are just moving.

I say just, but it is really a long move. Fredericksburg, Virginia to be exact. Neither one of us has ever lived this far from home, and it will definitely come with it’s plus and minuses.

First Minus - Family

I am realizing the closer I get to Thanksgiving that I am really going to miss my family. I really enjoy being with and around them. Sometimes I know I don’t show it but when I don’t get to talk to or see them for a while it feels weird. To help with that we are going to have Christmas and Thanksgiving together this year all at one time. I will be fun.

First Plus – God’s will

Yes, that is true. The reason we are leaving is that I have a new job at a church in Virginia. It is something I battle with and something my wife and I talked and prayed about a good bit. I can guarantee you that it has been affirmed in many ways. If you see me, ask me about it and I will share that with you. Stacy and I struggle to find the things that make us happy, but have realized more and more that what God wants for us makes us happy. Even though we will be poorer and living in a more expensive place we know that everything will work out and it is where we need to be.

I hope to make a note like this every night till I then we move. I will head out on December 2 and Stacy will finish out the semester and join me on the 17th. I will try to tag pictures and post things on facebook. We are also starting a new site to sell our Junk on. You should check it out when we get it up. I will post about that.

Morally I am opposed to killing, but if euthanasia became legal I would help because a lot of people need to be taken out.

This was a statement made to me during a forensics tournament, sitting around a judges table just chatting.

This photo was taken prior to the 2011 NFL Congress session in Laurel Mississippi. 5 of the 7 people in this photo made it to super congress and one had an award named after her in honor of her service to the forensics community. 1 out of the 7 qualified for the national tournament and several others made alternates. Thought I would share.

Secret Church

Secret Church

Had an awesome night at Secret Church along with many other churches in town and throughout the world. Six hours of insane high speed bible study with David Platt. If you did not get to watch it, go online and download the video and study guide. It is worth watching. I am sure I will watch it again. If your church did not participate it should. Not because it is David Platt, but because it is an awesome church growing experience for your congregation.

Prayer for Salvation, Prayer for India, and Prayer for the word of Christ to be spread through the world as well as excellent illustrations and thoughts on the scriptures that will help you in your walk with Christ.

Off The Grid – The day before

Not really sure where to start with this one. I am trying something different. It may succeed, it may not. I have known people to do it, but I have never had the chance. “What are you talking about”, you mights ask. I am going off-the-grid.

Now, I have gone-of-the-grid before, but this time it is a little different and I am a little afraid. No computers, now electronics, no tv, no nothing in a place I have never been all by myself with a notebook, a bible and a pen.

I will get up in the morning and just disappear. No plan, no expectations, no thinking, just going to a secluded place to read, pray, think and listen.

I will let you know know how it goes.
